Rod Espinosa

Rod Espinosa (* Philippines ) is a comic book writer and signatory. He completed studies at Don Bosco Technical College with a Certificate in Technical Drawing for Architecture from and got a college degree with a BFA major in advertising art from the Santo Tomas University - Manila. Four years after graduation, he moved to the United States.

His first stories appeared in the Ninja High School Annuals. He drew some issues of Ninja High School before his first own stories ( * For Eternity, Chronicles Of The Universe and Battle Girlz ) were published. His first -known work was The Courageous Princess in Antarctic Press, published as The courageous princess in German translation at the Eidalon publisher. The story was originally conceived as a novel, but was then implemented as a graphic novel. So far three volumes have been published, a fourth is planned.

This work led to nominations the Ignatz Award 2000 in the " Promising new talent " and " Best Artist ". In 2002, the title was nominated in the category "Best Title for young readers " for the Eisner Award. He also wrote the Neotopia series, a futuristic fantasy story about a world that has changed greatly after an era of devastating economic and personal greed for good. This series is published in German as Novotopia the Eidalon Publishing and was nominated for the Max and Moritz Prize 2006 in the category "best comic for children."

In addition to his own projects, Rod Espinosa is also responsible as an editor for the American edition of How To Draw Manga, he is also one of the series writers, as well as all Annuals and Swimsuit editions are printed at Antarctic Press, and in which stories and drawings fans will be published, in charge. He has just completed his work on a comic book version of Alice in Wonderland.

Rod Espinosa lives in San Antonio, Texas.
