Rodolfo Orlandini

Rodolfo Orlando Orlandini (* 1905 in Buenos Aires, Argentina; † 24 December 1990) was an Argentine football player and coach.

Association

The midfielder first played in Argentina for Sportivo Buenos Aires and Estudantil Porteño. 1930 he moved then to Italy to Genoa. Here he played six years before he in 1936 the French club OGC Nice joined, for which he was active until 1938.

National

Orlandini was also a member of the national team of his native country, and took her part in both the Summer Olympic Games in 1928, and at the first World Cup in 1930. He won at the Olympics with his teammates the silver medal and also the World Cup, it was concluded after the final defeat against neighbors Uruguay with the second place from. Successful was for him the tournament for the Campeonato Sudamericano 1929. Again, he belonged to the Argentine squad and was part of the team that ultimately won the title. In total, he completed 10 international matches, but in which he scored a goal.

A trainer

After his playing career, he was also active as a coach and assisted in this function, among others, the national team of Colombia during the qualifying stage for the World Cup 1962. Previously he coached already the national teams of Ecuador (1945 ) and El Salvador ( 1949-1951 ).
