Paraguay was the surprise team of the tournament. Right at the beginning they made with their 3-0 win over Olympic champion Uruguay for a sensation. Then there was indeed a smooth 1:4 defeat against hosts Argentina, but by the superior 5-0 win against Peru could be pleased about the second runner-up in the Copa.

Uruguay experienced as reigning Olympic champion and tournament favorite at this championship an absolute false start. With a 0-3 against Paraguay no one expected. Although one could then hope to win the tournament initially maintained by a 4-1 win over Peru, but in direct comparison against rivals Argentina could not his good record in the Copa América continued smooth and lost 0-2. It was the worst ever World Grand Prix for the Urus, whose star player so slowly came into the years.

Peru 1825 Peru Jorge Pardon ( Goalkeeper, Atlético Chalcao Callao ), Eduardo Astengo ( Universitario Lima), Juan Bulnes (?), Alberto Denegri ( Arequipa ), Reynaldo Galindo Plácido Pardo ( Arequipa ), Agustín Lizarbe (? ), Antonio Maquilon (Atlético Chalcao Callao ), Rodolfo Ortega (?), Julio Ramírez (?), Miguel Rostaing (?), Alfonso Saldarriaga (?), Enrique Salas (? ) Coach: Julio Borelli (Uruguay )

Peru had at his second ATP Challenger certainly expected more. Although the defeats against the "big " Argentina and Uruguay were not unexpected, we had hoped to be able to score points in a duel with Paraguay. That just this game with 0:5 earned the highest tournament defeat meant a bitter disappointment for Peru.
