Club Atlético Independiente

Club Atlético Independiente is a football club from Avellaneda, an industrial suburb of the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires Province. The two-time World Cup winner with seven titles won 1964-1984 the record winners of the Copa Libertadores.

After Boca Juniors and River Plate Independiente with 14 league titles the most successful club in the first division in Argentina. Local neighbor Racing is the " arch-rival " of the " Red Devils ". The two stages are less than 300 meters from each other and the Avellaneda derby is the game of the year for the fans.

The inaugural meeting of the Diablos Rojos ( Red Devils ) took place on 1 January 1905. There were not enough members are present, and so the formal act of creation was postponed to 25 March 1905. The first club president was Aristides Langone.

Stadium

The home ground of the Independiente is first opened in 1928 Estadio Libertadores de América (also known as Doble Visera ). It is under construction and, according to the work can accommodate 50 655 spectators.
