Federico Insúa

Federico Insúa, called El Pocho ( born January 3, 1980 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine football player.

Career

The two-footed playmaker was active in the Youth for Vélez Sarsfield Club Parque and Argentinos Juniors. On November 18, 1997, he gave his Erstligadebüt in La Liga for Argentinos Juniors against Independiente. By the winter of 2001/ 02 he made in 35 league games ten goals. During the 2001/02 season ( winter break ), he left and went to this club Independiente. In two seasons, he completed 57 championship games in which he was successful 19 times as a scorer. He won with his club the Apertura 2002.

For the season 2003/ 04 Insúa moved on loan to Europe and signed for Spanish side FC Malaga. There he graduated from 31 championship games in the Primera División, scoring three goals. After expiry of the loan period, he returned to South America back to Independiente. In his final season with this club he scored nine goals in 35 league games.

For the 2005/06 season Insúa moved for a transfer fee of about 2.8 million U.S. dollars to Boca Juniors and was with them Argentine champion of both the Apertura and Clausura season half. Insúa contributed to this in 37 league games eleven Goals.

For the 2006/07 season Insúa changed for an estimated 4.5 million € in the Bundesliga to Borussia Mönchengladbach and for the second time in his career to Europe, which made him the most expensive shopping Gladbach club's history. On 3 February 2007, he scored in the away match in Bielefeld his first Bundesliga goal for Moenchengladbach. However, the high expectations he could not meet, so the Borussia announced on 21 June 2007 the sale of Insúa. The midfielder moved for about 4.2 million € to Mexico to CF América. At the beginning of 2009, he was awarded within the Mexican League for six months to Necaxa. There, however, he could not prevent the descent of the association. For the new season Insua was awarded again. This time to his former club Boca Juniors. Federico Insúa joined the 2010/11 season again in the UEFA space and hired the then Turkish champions Bursaspor. At the beginning of 2012, he returned to Argentina and plays since then for CA Velez Sarsfield.

Federico Insúa played more 14 appearances for the Argentina national football team. He made his debut on 31 January 2003 during a friendly match against Honduras. His most last international match was a friendly against Jamaica on February 11, 2010 in Mar del Plata.
