Roger Davis (Pennsylvania)

Roger Davis ( born October 2, 1762 Charlestown, Chester County, Pennsylvania, † November 20, 1815 ) was an American politician. Between 1811 and 1815 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

After studying medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and its done around 1785 medical license, he began to work in Charlestown in this profession. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Democratic-Republican Party launched a political career. Between 1809 and 1811 he sat as an MP in the House of Representatives from Pennsylvania.

In the congressional elections of 1810 Davis was the third electoral district of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Robert Jenkins on March 4, 1811. After a re-election in the second district, he was able to complete in Congress until March 3, 1815 two legislative sessions. These were shaped by the events of the British -American War. After his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Davis practiced as a doctor again. He died on 20 November 1815 in Charlestown.
