Roger Plaxton

Hayward Alan Roger Plaxton ( born June 2, 1904 in Parry Sound, Ontario, † December 20, 1963 in Toronto, Ontario ) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player. At the Olympic Winter Games in 1928 he won the gold medal as a member of the Canadian national team. His cousin Herbert and Hugh were also 1928 Olympic champion in ice hockey.

Career

For Canada Roger Plaxton took part in the Olympic Winter Games in 1928 in St. Moritz, where he won the gold medal with his team. Together with his cousin Herbert he was in contrast to the majority of the Olympic team not the Toronto Varsity degree of who had won the 1927 Allan Cup, but his cousin Hugh was able to convince the coach Conn Smythe of the qualities of the two. During the tournament Roger Plaxton completed three games in which he remained point and impunity. After end of his career as a hockey player Plaxton worked for an insurance company until his death in 1963 at the age of 59 years.
