Roger Yasukawa

Roger Yasukawa ( born October 10, 1977 in Los Angeles ) is an American of Japanese descent racer.

Career

Yasukawa began his motorsport career in 1991 in karting, where he was active until 1997. In 1998 he moved to Formula racing and came into Europe in the Formula Palmer Audi at. His first season he finished in 16th place overall. In 1999 he returned to North America and competed in the Barber Dodge Pro Series. After the ninth and the seventh -ranked 2000 was 1999, he finished 2001 with a win fourth place in the drivers' standings. In 2002 he moved into the Atlantic Championship and was at Hylton Motorsports teammate Ryan Hunter -Reay. Yasukawa won the race in West Allis and finished the season behind Hunter -Reay on the 10th place overall.

2003, the American Super Aguri Fernandez Racing has been committed for the IndyCar Series. He finished eight races in the top ten pilots and took the end of the season in twelfth place overall. He was also behind Dan Wheldon as the second best newcomers. Despite the achievements in his debut season in 2004 Yasukawa received no cockpit for the entire season. For Rahal Letterman Racing, he joined the race at Motegi and Indianapolis and finished 26th in the driver standings. In 2005 he received at Dreyer & Reinbold Racing again a cockpit for the entire season. This time he never came in the top ten, finishing in 17th place overall.

Since 2006, Yasukawa denied any full season more. In 2006 he started for Playa Del Racing and 2007 for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing at the Indianapolis 500 in 2008 he was taken by CURB / Agajanian / Beck Motorsports / Wellman Racing for the race at Motegi and Indianapolis under contract, but could not for the Indianapolis 500 qualify. In 2009 he started for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing at Motegi. In 2010 he joined for Conquest Racing again at Motegi and finished at the end of the season 40th overall.
