The Roggeveldberge (English Roggeveld Mountains ) are a mountain range in the Northern Cape, South Africa. The name " Roggeveld " comes from the wild rye, which was previously found here in abundance.

The mountain range is situated between the towns of Calvinia and Sutherland, east and northeast of the Tankwa - Karoo National Park. The mountain lies on the western edge of the Roggeveld, a vast plateau, which is part of the Great Karoo. The Sneeukrans ( German as: "Snow Crown") has a height of 1739 meters above sea level, another mountain in Sutherland is about 1777 meters high. In its vicinity there is an observatory. This southern part is known as Komsberg. The average annual rainfall in the winter rainfall region is 200 mm. The area is rarely visited by tourists.

The Ouberg pass crosses the mountains at an altitude of 1404 meters; another pass is the Verlatenkloofpas, which was built in 1876 under Thomas Bain. Sutherland, in the southern part of the mountain range, one of the South African locations with the lowest minimum temperature; here temperatures of up to -15 ° C are measured in the winter and there is regular snow.
