Rogóżka

Rogóżka ( German Wolmsdorf ) is a desert village in the powiat Kłodzki in the Province of Lower Silesia in Poland. The area is part of the urban and rural community Stronie Śląskie.

Geography

Rogóżka located in the southeast of the Glatzer boiler in the northern foothills of Śnieżnik Mountains. Neighboring towns are Kąty Bystrzyckie and Stronie Śląskie in the northeast, Sienna and Janowa Góra in the south, Biała Woda in the southwest, and Marcinków Czatków ( Tschihak ) in the west and Konradów in the northwest.

History

Wolmsdorf was first mentioned in 1346 as tungsten village. It belonged to the rule Karpenstein Glatzer in the country and was in the possession of the crown of Bohemia. 1684 sold the Bohemian Chamber Wolf village and also belonging to the Landeck district Doftschaften Oberthalheim, Voigtsdorf, Marktleuthen, Karpenstein Konradswalde and Winkelsdorf the Glatzer top rulers of the imperial chamber goods and Imperial Council Sigmund Hofmann ( † 1698 ), by the emperor with the title of lamps' Star " had been raised to the peerage. His grandson Leopold Count von lights star sold Wolmsdorf and Winkelsdorf to Count Georg Olivier Wallis, who already had extensive possessions in the county of Glatz and Wolmsdorf connected with the reign mountain side.

After the Silesian Wars Wolmsdorf coincided with the county of Glatz in 1763 with the Peace of Hubertusburg to Prussia. 1783 sold Stephan Olivier Wallis inherited from his father all the possessions Erblandbaudirektor Friedrich Wilhelm Graf von Schlabrendorf on pride and Hassitz. Although this 1789, the dominions mountain side and Plomnitz sold to the Royal Council of Justice Franz von Mutius on Gellenau and Backwater, he kept the villages continue Wolmsdorf, Angle Village, White Water and Martin Berg for himself and his reign Kunz incorporated this village. After the reorganization of Prussia Wolmsdorf belonged since 1815 to the province of Silesia and was first incorporated into the county of Glatz. 1818 was reclassified in the newly formed district Habelschwerdt with which it was connected until 1945. From the end of the 19th century developed into a summer resort Wolmsdorf. 1939 counted 124 inhabitants.

As a result of World War II Wolmsdorf fell like almost all of Silesia to Poland and was renamed Rogóżka. The German inhabitants were expelled. The newly settled inhabitants were partly displaced persons from eastern Poland, which had fallen to the Soviet Union. After production in the limestone quarries came to a standstill in the postwar years, leaving the inhabitants of the place gradually, so that the houses and farms were left to decay. The late 1970s was Rogóżka as no longer inhabited. In the years 1975-1998 Rogóżka belonged to the province Wałbrzych.

Church relationships

Wolmsdorf first belonged to the parish church "St. Cross " in Konradswalde. Once known almost all the inhabitants to the Lutheran faith, was Konradswalde and its villages dedicated in 1559 on the orders of the then Lord of the mortgage County of Glatz, Duke Ernst of Bavaria, a subsidiary of the then Catholic parish Neuwaltersdorf. The vicar was obliged to perform the services in the two churches alternately. After the Lutheran doctrine spread further, in 1571 a Lutheran pastor for Konradswalde was appointed. He was dismissed from 1604 imperial command of his office and handed over Konradswalde with all parishioners villages to the Catholic pastor of Neuwaltersdorf as a branch. During the time of the Bohemian Estates uprising in 1618, the Catholic priest were expelled by the inhabitants, and in turn hired Lutheran pastor in Konradswalde and Neuwaltersdorf. After the recapture of the County of Glatz by the imperial troops 1622/23, a Catholic priest was used in Neuwaltersdorf, the Konradswalde and its villages were assigned as branch. At the request of the former landlord Johann Anton von frobel the parish Konradswalde was rebuilt with the approval of the Archbishop of Prague Manderscheid - Blankenheim 1737, together with Heudorf and Tschihak turn Wolmsdorf dedicated to this. As pastor of the Neuwaltersdorfer Johann Heinrich less was used, which performed the duties until 1761.

Attractions

  • Ruins of St. Ignatius Chapel. The chapel was built in 1765 on the site of an earlier wooden chapel and first consecrated in honor of St. Mary and Francis Xavier.
  • The cave was discovered in 1885 called Wolmsdorferhöhle. Because of the former limestone quarry it is no longer accessible since 1962 for security reasons.
