Criticism

The selection was not without opposition. Was particularly criticized:

  • She was too focused on the 60s and 70s
  • Rock will be highly preferred jazz and hip -hop are disadvantaged and certain rock genres, such as progressive rock and metal, as well as not represented.
  • Even though six of the top ten albums in the United Kingdom came ( four of The Beatles, one of the Rolling Stones and one of The Clash ), the US-based productions would very overweight
  • It would almost invariably listed English albums
  • Subsequent greatest hits and best-of compilations have actually lost nothing on such a list
  • Partially disagree with the rankings in the list earlier reviews of albums by the same magazine, such as Nevermind by Nirvana, the 17th claimed in U.S. list for yourself, but received in the original score only three out of five stars.

Nevertheless, became and remained this list influential. Media, fans and dealers repeatedly point to the placement of a particular album on this list. Ultimately, however, felt some initial ( U.S. ) Critics of this list, it would be but a satisfactory overview of influential and good music.
