The midfielder came from the youth of the SV Muttenz to FC Basel and currently still playing at the U- 21 team in the first league. In the 2010/11 season he scored eight goals in 27 missions in the 2011/12 season there are seven games in four.

His debut in an official match of the first team of FCB he gave on 17 September 2011 as the substitute in the Swiss Cup in the 4-0 away win at FC Eschenbach. His league debut for FC Basel gave Buess on 2 May 2012 in a 2-1 home win against Thun when he came on in the 72nd minute for Stephan Andrist. End of the 2011/12 season Buess was Swiss champion with FC Basel. In the 2012-13 season he moved on loan to FC Aarau, his loan contract expires though, so he is expected to return for the new season 2013/14 again to FC Basel on the 2013-14 season, he moved on loan to FC Locarno.

National

For the Swiss U17 national Buess played 8 games. He made his debut on 24 August 2008 in the 3-0 defeat against Austria. With the U-17 team, he was world champion in the U-17 World Cup Nigeria 2009. Buess was also in the Swiss squad at the U-17 Football Championship 2009 in Germany.

In the Swiss U-19 team, he made his debut on 9 February 2011 in a 1-0 away defeat in Greece. In the Swiss U -20 team, he debuted on October 6, 2011 in a 1-0 away win in Poland, while he managed the winning goal.
