Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Guayaquil

The Archdiocese of Guayaquil (lat.: Archidioecesis guayaquilensis, Spanish: Arquidiócesis de Guayaquil ) is a located in Ecuador Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic church located in Guayaquil.

History

The diocese of Guayaquil was erected on 29 January 1838 cession of territory of the diocese of Quito and this is a suffragan. On January 22, 1956, the diocese of Guayaquil by Pope Pius XII was. raised to an archbishopric. The Archdiocese had in its history several times parts of its territory from the creation of new dioceses.
