Roman Catholic Diocese of Babahoyo

The diocese Babahoyo (Latin: Dioecesis Babahoiensis ) is a location in Ecuador Roman Catholic diocese based in Babahoyo.

History

The diocese was erected Babahoyo on 15 July 1948, cessions of territory of the diocese of Guayaquil as Apostolic Vicariate of Los Ríos. On September 10, 1951, the Vicariate Apostolic was raised to the Territorialprälatur. On 22 August 1994, the Territorialprälatur Los Ríos was raised to the bishopric and renamed diocese Babahoyo. The diocese was Babahoyo the Archdiocese of Guayaquil is a suffragan.
