Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Maria Santissima in Astana
The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Astana (Latin: Sanctae Mariae Archidioecesis in Astanansis ) comprises the territories of Kazakhstan Astana, Aqmola, Qostanai, Pavlodar and North Kazakhstan. The ecclesiastical province of Astana covers the whole of Kazakhstan.
History
On 7 July 1999, the Apostolic Administration of Astana was built with the Bull Ad aptius consulendum. Pope John Paul II, she rose with the Bull In Cazakistania fidelium on 7 May 2003 for the Archdiocese and appointed the former Apostolic Administrator of Astana, Tomasz Peta, Archbishop.
