Roman Catholic Diocese of Bokungu–Ikela

The diocese Bokungu - Ikela (Latin: Dioecesis Bokunguensis - Ikelaensis ) is a location in the Democratic Republic of the Congo Roman Catholic diocese based in Bokungu.

History

The diocese Bokungu - Ikela was on September 11, 1961 by Pope John XXIII. built with the Apostolic Constitution Ecclesia Mater from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese Coquilhatville as Ikela diocese. On June 11, 1967, the diocese was renamed the Diocese Ikela Bokungu - Ikela.

The diocese Bokungu - Ikela is the Archdiocese of Mbandaka - Bikoro a suffragan.
