Roman Catholic Diocese of Butembo-Beni

The Diocese of Butembo -Beni (Latin: Dioecesis Butembensis - Benensis ) is a located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo Roman Catholic diocese based in Butembo.

History

The Diocese of Butembo -Beni was born on April 9, 1934 by Pope Pius XI. with the Apostolic Constitution Quo latius of annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate of Stanley Falls sui juris mission Beni nel Congo Belga built. On November 10, 1959, the Apostolic Vicariate of Beni nel Congo Belga was by Pope John XXIII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Cum parvulum to the diocese and the Archdiocese of Bukavu is a suffragan. The Diocese of Beni nel Congo Belga was renamed on July 7, 1960 in the diocese of Beni. On 7 February 1967, the diocese was renamed the Diocese of Beni Butembo -Beni.
