Roman Catholic Diocese of Campos

The Diocese of Campos (Latin: Dioecesis Campo sinus ) is a preferred in Brazil Roman Catholic diocese based in Campos in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

History

The Diocese of Campos was on December 4, 1922 by Pope Pius XI. built with the Apostolic Constitution Ad supremae Apostolicae Sedis out of territory of the Diocese of Niterói and the Archdiocese of São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro is a suffragan. On March 26, 1960, the Diocese of Campos were parts of its territory from the foundation of the Diocese of Nova Iguaçu. The Diocese of Campos was placed under the Archdiocese of Niterói, suffragan of March 26, 1960.
