Roman Catholic Diocese of Cheju

The Diocese of Cheju (Latin: Dioecesis Cheiuensis, kor. 천주교 제주 교구 ) is located in South Korea, Roman Catholic diocese based in Jeju ( Cheju ).

History

The Diocese of Cheju was posted on June 28, 1971 by Pope Paul VI. built with the Apostolic Constitution Quoniam supremi of cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Gwangju as Apostolic Prefecture of Cheju. On 21 March 1977, the Apostolic Prefecture of Cheju was Paul VI. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Munus Apostolicum to the diocese and the Archdiocese of Gwangju is a suffragan.
