Roman Catholic Diocese of Comodoro Rivadavia

Located in Argentina diocese Comodoro Rivadavia (Latin: Dioecesis Rivadaviae ) was separated on 11 February 1957 by the Diocese of Viedma, and reports to the Archdiocese of Bahía Blanca, suffragan.

After it had delivered some areas on the establishment of the Diocese of Río Gallegos on 10 April 1961 it counted 170,000 in 1964 ( 91.9 %) Catholics in 17 parishes with five diocesan priests, 33 religious priests and 56 nuns.

By 2004, the 32,400 km ² large diocese ( 83.6 %) in 31 parishes and 90 chapels grew to 345,000 Catholics with 28 diocesan priests, 22 religious priests and 88 nuns.

Within the diocese, which is a mission area of the Salesians of Don Bosco, who hold the governance of the diocese to this day, there is one contemplative convent, 21 offices of women religious and five men of various offices medals.

The Cathedral in Comodoro Rivadavia is titled San Juan Bosco.
