Roman Catholic Diocese of Diamantino

The diocese Diamantino (Latin: Dioecesis Adamanteae ) is a location in Brazil the Roman Catholic Diocese based in Diamantino in the state of Mato Grosso.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded the Territorialprälatur Diamantino on 22 March 1929 with the Apostolic Constitution Cura universae Ecclesiae out of territory of the Archdiocese of Cuiabá, where it was assumed as a suffragan.

With the bull Cura universae Ecclesiae it was raised on 16 October 1979 bishopric.

The diocese includes the municipalities Diamantino Diamantino, Alto Paraguay, Arenápolis, Campo Novo do Parecis, Denise, Ipiranga do Norte, Itanhangá, Lucas do Rio Verde, Nortelândia, Nova Marilândia, Nova Maringá, Nova Mutum, Santo Afonso, São José do Rio Claro, Sapezal, Tangará da Serra, Tapurah and Santa Rita do Trivelato the State of Mato Grosso.
