Roman Catholic Diocese of Garzón

The Diocese of Garzón (Latin: Dioecesis Garzonensis, Spanish: diócesis de Garzón ) is a location in Columbia Roman Catholic diocese based in Garzón.

History

The Diocese of Garzón was born on May 20, 1900 by Pope Leo XIII. built out of territory of the Diocese of Tolima and the Archdiocese of Popayán assumed suffragan. On February 25, 1964, the diocese was renamed the Diocese of Garzón Garzón - Neiva. The Diocese of Garzón - Neiva was divided on 24 July 1972 in the dioceses of Garzón and Neiva. On December 14, 1974, the Diocese of Garzón was the Archdiocese of Ibagué is a suffragan.
