Roman Catholic Diocese of Idiofa

The diocese Idiofa (Latin: Dioecesis Idiofaensis ) is a location in the Democratic Republic of the Congo Roman Catholic diocese based in Idiofa.

History

The diocese Idiofa was on April 13, 1937 by Pope Pius XI. built with the Apostolic Constitution Quo uberiores of annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate Kasai Superiore and Koango o Kwango as Apostolic Prefecture Ipamu. The Apostolic Prefecture Ipamu was born on February 12, 1948 by Pope Pius XII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Missio quaevis Apostolic Vicariate.

On November 10, 1959, the Apostolic Vicariate Ipamu was by Pope John XXIII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Cum parvulum to the diocese and the Archdiocese of Kinshasa is a suffragan. The diocese Ipamu was renamed on 20 June 1960 in the diocese of Idiofa.
