Roman Catholic Diocese of Irapuato

The Diocese of Irapuato (Latin: Dioecesis Irapuatensis, Spanish: diócesis de Irapuato ) is a location in Mexico Roman Catholic diocese based in Irapuato.

History

The Diocese of Irapuato was built on 3 January 2004 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Venerabiles Fratres out of territory of the Archdiocese of Morelia and the bishopric of León and the Archdiocese of San Luis Potosí is a suffragan. First bishop, José de Jesús Martínez Zepeda.

On 25 November 2006, the Diocese of Irapuato was by Pope Benedict XVI. the Archdiocese of León suffragan assumed with the Apostolic Constitution Mexicani populi.
