Roman Catholic Diocese of Jabalpur

The Diocese of Jabalpur (Latin: Dioecesis Iabalpurensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Bhopal.

History

Originally built on July 18, 1932 areas of the dioceses Allahabad and Nagpur as Apostolic Prefecture Jubbulpore and renamed on October 21, 1950 in Apostolic Prefecture of Jabalpur, in 1954 the collection to the diocese.

On September 13, 1963, the diocese lost parts of the territory to the newly erected Archdiocese of Bhopal. The next area loss was in 1968, when the Apostolic Exarchate of Satna was built.
