Syro-Malabar Catholic Diocese of Satna

The Diocese of Satna (Latin: Dioecesis Satnensis ) is a diocese of the united with the Roman Catholic Church Syro - Malabar Church, based in Satna, India. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Bhopal.

History

On July 29, 1968, the Apostolic Exarchate of Satna was built from part of a territory of the Diocese of Jabalpur and Abraham D. Mattam was their Exarch. When the Exarchate in 1977 raised to the bishopric, Mattam was bishop. He was replaced by Matthew Vaniakizhakel as bishop in 1999.
