Roman Catholic Diocese of Jasikan

The diocese Jasikan (Latin: Dioecesis Iasikanensis ) is a location in Ghana Roman Catholic diocese based in Jasikan.

History

The diocese was erected Jasikan on 19 December 1994 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Progrediens of cessions of territory of the Diocese of Keta -Ho and the Archdiocese of Accra is a suffragan. First bishop was Gabriel Akwasi Abiabo Mante.

Diocese of structure

The region in which the diocese is being neglected infrastructure, so there was at no foundation of the diocese bishop's house, no telephone and no electricity. By supporting the charities Missio, Misereor, the Church in Need and Children's Mission was able to significantly improve the infrastructure. The diocese has partnerships with the German Catholic chaplaincy Provence- Alpes- Cote d' Azur and the monastery Plankstetten.
