Roman Catholic Diocese of Keta–Akatsi
The Diocese of Keta - Akatsi (Latin: Dioecesis Ketaënsis - Akatsiensis ) is a location in Ghana Roman Catholic diocese based in Akatsi.
History
The Diocese of Keta - Akatsi was born on March 15, 1923 by Pope Pius XI. cessions of territory from the Apostolic Vicariate Gold Coast and Togo built as Apostolic Vicariate lower Volta.
On April 18, 1950, the Apostolic Vicariate of lower Volta was by Pope Pius XII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Laeto accepimus to the diocese and renamed Diocese of Keta. It was the Archdiocese of Accra is a suffragan. The Diocese of Keta announced on April 23, 1956 from parts of its territory to the founding of the Diocese of Navrongo. On 20 June 1975, the Diocese of Keta was renamed Diocese of Keta -Ho. The Diocese of Keta -Ho announced on December 19, 1994 from parts of its territory to the foundation of the diocese Jasikan. On 19 December 1994, the Diocese of Keta -Ho was divided by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Venerabiles Fratres in the dioceses of chum Akatsi and Ho.
