Roman Catholic Diocese of Kano
The Diocese of Kano (Latin: Dioecesis Kanensis ) is a location in Nigeria Roman Catholic diocese based in Kano.
History
Pope John Paul II founded the mission sui juris Kano on 22 March 1991 from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Kaduna.
On 15 December 1995 it was raised to the rank of Apostolic Vicariate and on 22 June 1999 to the rank of a bishopric, which was the Archdiocese of Kaduna assumed as suffragan.
