Roman Catholic Diocese of Kaolack

The Diocese of Kaolack (Latin: Dioecesis Kaolackensis ) is a location in Senegal Roman Catholic diocese based in Kaolack. It includes the regions of Kaolack and Kaffrine.

History

Pope Pius XII. founded the Apostolic Prefecture of Kaolack with the Apostolic Constitution Firmissima libertatis on 21 January 1957 on surrender of territory of the Diocese of Ziguinchor and of the Archdiocese of Dakar.

On July 6, 1965, she was charged with the Apostolic Constitution Christ vicarii to the diocese and it became the Archdiocese of Dakar assumed as suffragan. A part of its territory it lost on August 13, 1970, the Apostolic Prefecture of Tambacounda.
