Roman Catholic Diocese of Tambacounda

The Diocese of Tambacounda (Latin: Dioecesis Tambacundanus ) is a location in Senegal Roman Catholic diocese based in Tambacounda. It comprises the eastern part of Senegal.

History

Pope Paul VI. founded the Apostolic Prefecture of Tambacounda with the Apostolic Constitution Universae Christianorum on August 13, 1970 has annexations of the dioceses Kaolack and Saint- Louis du Sénégal.

On April 17, 1989, she was charged with the Apostolic Constitution Permagno cum gaudio to the diocese and it became the Archdiocese of Dakar assumed as suffragan.
