Roman Catholic Diocese of Kilwa–Kasenga

The Diocese of Kilwa - Kasenga (Latin: Dioecesis Kilvaensis - Kasengaensis ) is a located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo Roman Catholic diocese based in Kilwa.

History

The Diocese of Kilwa - Kasenga was born on July 8, 1948 by Pope Pius XII. built with the Apostolic Constitution in Congo Belgico of annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate Lulua e Katanga Centrale as Apostolic Prefecture of Lac Moero.

On August 24, 1962, the Apostolic Prefecture of Lac Moero was by Pope John XXIII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Candida Christ to the diocese and renamed Diocese of Kilwa. It was the Archdiocese of Lubumbashi is a suffragan. The Diocese of Kilwa was on 24 April 1971 from parts of its territory to the founding of the Diocese of Manono. On August 4, 1977, the Diocese of Kilwa was renamed the Diocese of Kilwa - Kasenga.
