Roman Catholic Diocese of Kisantu

The diocese Kisantu (Latin: Dioecesis Kisantuensis ) is a location in the Democratic Republic of the Congo Roman Catholic diocese based in Kisantu.

History

The diocese Kisantu was on April 1, 1931 by Pope Pius XI. built with the Apostolic Constitution Expostularunt of annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate Koango o Kwango as Apostolic Vicariate Kisantu. The Apostolic Vicariate of Kisantu announced on July 5, 1957 from parts of its territory establishing the Apostolic Prefecture Kenge.

On November 10, 1959, the Apostolic Vicariate Kisantu was by Pope John XXIII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Cum parvulum to the diocese and the Archdiocese of Kinshasa is a suffragan. The diocese Kisantu announced on 24 June 1961 from parts of its territory to the foundation of the diocese Popokabaka.
