Roman Catholic Diocese of Lodwar

The Diocese of Lodwar (Latin: Dioecesis Loduarinus ) is a location in Kenya Roman Catholic diocese based in Lodwar. It includes the north -central part of the Rift Valley Province.

History

Pope Paul VI. founded the Apostolic Prefecture of Lodwar with the Apostolic Constitution Sacrorum Librorum on January 11, 1968 from cessions of territory of the Diocese of Eldoret.

On 30 January 1978 she was charged with the Apostolic Constitution Qui Deo volente to the diocese, which was the Archdiocese of Nairobi assumed as suffragan. On 21 May 1990, it was part of the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Kisumu.
