Roman Catholic Diocese of Maldonado-Punta del Este

The diocese Maldonado -Punta del Este (Latin: Dioecesis Maldonadensis - Orientalis Orae ) is a located in Uruguay Roman Catholic diocese based in Maldonado. It is canonically and organizationally the Archdiocese of Montevideo assigned as suffragan.

History

Emerged from the diocese of Minas, the diocese Maldonado -Punta del Este was built on January 10, 1966. In the fifteen parishes about 160,000 Roman Catholics live. Pastoral they are nine diocesan priests, religious priests supervised five, twelve deacons in the permanent diaconate with the contribution of 25 nuns and 10 monks.
