Roman Catholic Diocese of Mangochi

The Diocese of Mangochi (Latin: Dioecesis Mangociensis ) is a location in Malawi Roman Catholic diocese based in Mangochi.

History

The Diocese of Mangochi on May 29, 1969 Pope Paul VI. with the Apostolic Constitution Quam studiose out of territory of the Diocese of Zomba built as Apostolic Prefecture of Fort Johnston. On 17 September 1973, the Apostolic Prefecture of Fort Johnston was Paul VI. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Cum Nostrum to the diocese and renamed Diocese of Mangochi. It was the Archdiocese of Blantyre is a suffragan.
