Roman Catholic Diocese of Maralal

The Diocese of Maralal (Latin: Dioecesis Maralalensis ) is located in Kenya Diocese of the Roman Catholic church located in Maralal. It includes the Samburu district in the Rift Valley province.

History

Pope John Paul II founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Ad Plenius on 15 June 2001 from cessions of territory of the Diocese of Marsabit and it became the Archdiocese of Nyeri assumed as suffragan. Since the establishment of the local Ordinary Virgilio Pante IMC.

September 30, 2006 was ordained in the Diocese of James Lomulen Kayanda a priest, the first Jesuit from the ethnicity of the Turkana.
