Roman Catholic Diocese of Mopti

The Diocese of Mopti (Latin: Dioecesis Moptiensis ) is located in Mali Roman Catholic diocese based in Mopti.

History

The Diocese of Mopti was born on June 9, 1942 by Pope Pius XII. cessions of territory from the Apostolic Vicariate Bamako, Bobo-Dioulasso and Ouagadougou built as Apostolic Prefecture of Gao. On 12 June 1947, the Apostolic Prefecture Gao gave parts of their territory establishing the Apostolic Prefecture of Nouna. The Apostolic Prefecture Gao was born on September 29, 1964 by Pope Paul VI. charged with the Apostolic Constitution More institutoque to the diocese and renamed Diocese of Mopti. It was the Archdiocese of Bamako is a suffragan.
