Roman Catholic Diocese of Mweka

The Diocese of Mweka (Latin: Dioecesis Mvekaensis ) is a located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo Roman Catholic diocese based in Mweka.

History

The Diocese of Mweka was born on March 24, 1953 by Pope Pius XII. cessions of territory from the Apostolic Vicariate Luluabourg built as Apostolic Prefecture Mweka. On September 29, 1964, the Apostolic Prefecture Mweka was by Pope Paul VI. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Sanctorum Mater to the diocese.

The Diocese of Mweka is the Archdiocese of Kananga is a suffragan.
