Roman Catholic Diocese of Mzuzu
The diocese of Mzuzu (Latin: Dioecesis Mzuzuensis ) is a location in Malawi Roman Catholic diocese based in Mzuzu.
History
The diocese of Mzuzu was on May 8, 1947, Pope Pius XII. built with the Apostolic Constitution Quo in Nyasaland from annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate of Nyassa as Apostolic Prefecture of Northern Nyassa. On January 17, 1961, the Apostolic Prefecture of Northern Nyassa was by Pope John XXIII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution fertilis arbor to the diocese and renamed Diocese of Mzuzu. It was the Archdiocese of Blantyre is a suffragan. The diocese of Mzuzu announced on 21 July 2010 from parts of its territory to the foundation of the diocese of Karonga. On February 9, 2011, the diocese of Mzuzu was the Archdiocese of Lilongwe is a suffragan.
