Roman Catholic Diocese of Pagadian

The Diocese of Pagadian (Latin: Dioecesis Pagadianensis ) is a location in the Philippines Roman Catholic diocese based in Pagadian. It comprises the northern and eastern part of the province of Zamboanga del Sur.

History

Pope Paul VI. founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Ut fidelium necessitatibus on 12 November 1971 of territory of the Archdiocese of Zamboanga, where it was assumed as a suffragan. On January 24, 1983, was part of the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Ozamiz.
