Roman Catholic Diocese of Porto Nacional

The Diocese of Porto Nacional (Latin: Portus Dioecesis nationalism ) is a located in Brazil, Roman Catholic diocese based in Porto Nacional in the state of Tocantins.

History

The Diocese of Porto Nacional was founded on December 20, 1915 by Pope Benedict XV. built with the Apostolic Constitution Apostolatus officium of cessions of territory of the Diocese of Goiás and the Archdiocese of Mariana is a suffragan. On July 4, 1924, the Diocese of Porto Nacional gave parts of its territory establishing the Territorialprälatur Bananal. The Diocese of Porto Nacional was was placed under the Archbishopric of Goiás suffragan on 18 November 1932. On December 20, 1954, the Diocese of Porto Nacional gave parts of its territory establishing the Territorialprälatur Tocantinópolis. The Diocese of Porto Nacional was placed under the Archdiocese of Goiânia suffragan on March 27, 1956. On October 11, 1966, the Diocese of Porto Nacional gave parts of its territory establishing the Territorialprälatur Miracema do Norte. On 27 March 1996 the diocese of Porto Nacional gave parts of its territory to the creation of the Archdiocese of Palmas, where it was a suffragan.
