Roman Catholic Diocese of Zhaoxian

The diocese Zhaoxian (Latin: Dioecesis Ciaoscienensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Zhaoxian in the People's Republic of China.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded the Apostolic Prefecture Chaohsien with the Breve Ex Apostolico munere on March 18, 1929 from annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate Chengting. On January 11, 1932, she was elevated to the rank of Apostolic Vicariate.

With the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos it was raised on April 11, 1946 Diocese. She scored 2010 60.000 Catholics, 60 priests, 124 nuns, 170 small and 52 large seminarians and 145 churches and places of worship.
