Roman Catholic Territorial Prelature of Cametá

The diocese Cametá (Latin: Dioecesis Cametanensis ) is a location in Brazil Roman Catholic diocese based in Cametá in the state of Pará.

History

The Territorialprälatur Cametá was posted on November 29, 1952 by Pope Pius XII. built with the Papal Bull Providentissimi consilium of cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Belém do Pará and this assumed as suffragan.

On February 6, 2013, Pope Benedict XVI. the Territorialprälatur to the diocese. The former prelate Jesús María Cizaurre Berdonces became the first diocesan bishop at the same time.
