Romanian general election, 2000

The presidential elections in Romania in 2000 took place on 26 November and on 10 December 2000. In the first round Ion Iliescu of the Party of Social Democracy of Romania ( PDSR, today PSD) and Corneliu Vadim Tudor received by the extremist Greater Romania Party the most votes. In the run- up Iliescu prevailed clearly against Tudor.
