Ron Dante

Ron Dante ( born August 22, 1945 as Carmine Granito in Staten Iceland, New York) is an American singer, songwriter and music producer.

The versatile artist initiated in the early 1960s a number of music projects, which consisted solely of Ron Dante. He sang all the voices and mixed them together then, giving the impression of an entire choir was formed.

His first project was "The Detergents". With Leader of the Laundromat, a parody of the Shangri -Las title Leader of the Pack, he achieved 1964 place 19 of the U.S. charts.

Later he had as "The Cuff Links " two international hits: Tracy (1969 U.S. No. 9, UK # 4 ), and When Julie Comes Around (1970, U.S. No. 41, UK # 10 ).

At the same time Ron Dante had as the lead singer of number-one hits of the cartoon group The Archies Sugar Sugar (written by Jeff Barry and Andy Kim) contributed significantly to the success of this " band".

In 1970 he published the first LP under his own name, Ron Dante Brings You Up. In 1979, Dante took a disco album under the name of Dante 's Inferno, and in 1981 he published the second solo album Street Angel.

From 1973 to 1981 Ron Dante Producer Barry Manilow, with whom he often referred to as background singers participated (including Mandy ).
