Ron Fischer

Ronald Alexander Fischer ( born April 12, 1959 in Merritt, British Columbia ) is a retired German - Canadian professional ice hockey player who played from 1984 to 1996 in the Hockey League and in the DEL for the SC Riessersee and SB Rosenheim and the German national ice hockey team.

Career

He began his career in 1978 in the WHL with the Edmonton Oil Kings. 1980 obliged him the Buffalo Sabres, for which he was employed in the NHL, but he was mainly used until 1983 when their farm team, the Rochester Americans in the AHL.

In 1984 he moved to Garmisch- Partenkirchen Riessersee SC, where he played for two years. After this time, he was allowed to be used as a German -Canadian and took no quota space for more foreign players. Under this condition, he moved in 1986 to the Star Bulls Rosenheim. By the end of his career in 1996 he played for Rosenheim, both as a defender and as a striker.

Fischer also played for the German national ice hockey team.

His sons Alex and Sean Fischer are also hockey players.
