Ron Morris (athlete)

Ron Morris ( Ronald Hugh Morris; * April 27, 1935 in Glendale, California ) is a retired American pole vaulter.

At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 he won the silver medal with 4.60 m behind compatriot Don Bragg ( 4.70 m ) and ahead of the Finn Eeles Landström (4.55 m).

1958, 1951 and 1962, he was U.S. champion. His personal best of 5.03 m he set up in Mikkeli on 31 July 1966.

From 1960 to 1978 he was athletics coach at California State University, Los Angeles. Since then, he operates a specialized trade for Athletics accessories.
