Ronald William Gainer

Ronald William Gainer ( born August 24, 1947 in Pottsville ) is Bishop of Harrisburg.

Life

The Bishop of Allentown, Joseph Mark McShea, ordained him a priest on May 19, 1973.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 13 December 2002 as Bishop of Lexington. The Archbishop of Louisville, Thomas Cajetan Kelly OP, donated to him on 22 February of the next year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Joseph Edward Kurtz, Bishop of Knoxville, and Edward Peter Cullen, Bishop of Allentown. As a motto he chose Ex de plenitudine ... Gratiam per gratia.

On January 24, 2014, Pope Francis appointed as Bishop of Harrisburg. The inauguration took place on 19 March of the same year.
