Roncador Oil Field

The Roncador oil field discovered in 1996 is an oil and gas field in Brazil's Campos Basin in the sea area of ​​the South Atlantic. Roncador is located about 125 km off the coast of Brazil, northeast of Rio de Janeiro. 1998, oil reserves were estimated at 2.7 billion barrels. 2000 was the installation of the first large conveyor in the Roncador oil field.

The field covers an area of ​​around 28,000 hectares and reaches a flow depths up to 1900 meters. Operator is Petrobras (NOC ) that there currently (as of mid 2013) has five drilling rigs and special conveyors. Both because of its size and density of different support the Roncador field was divided into four sections, which are called Module 1 to 4.
